Legal Gobbledygook

I’ve been blogging for a while now, and I probably should have posted this page sooner.  But all this stuff is just a pain in the neck, and I really would rather be out camping.  Or boating or biking or doing just about anything else other than talking about cookies and copyrights.  I tried to make this page as entertaining as possible but, sometimes, you just have to do what you have to do – no matter how excruciatingly painful it is.

COOKIES - Blogger is a free platform offered by Google that easily allows authors to launch and maintain an online presence without the expenses that accompany a commercial website.  I use Blogger because I enjoy creative writing, want to document our travels and other facets of the RV lifestyle, and like to connect with fellow bloggers and travelers who share interests similar to mine across a variety of topics.  Blogger is an excellent and inexpensive means to an end for me.

That brings us to cookies.  I love cookies!  Ice cream and pies, too, for that matter.  Google uses more cookies than I could ever eat – if they were the eating kind of cookies.  But they’re not.  You need to know that Google uses cookies for all kinds of reasons and I’m supposed to tell you about it.  So, note that I just did.  But, if you’re a stickler for details, know that you can find Google’s complete cookie recipe policy HERE: How Google Uses Cookies   If you don’t like Google’s variety of cookies, then please don’t read this blog because I don’t want to get in trouble.

COPYRIGHT – Consider all posts and photographs copyrighted material even if not labeled as such.  You and I both know that plagiarism is a big no-no.  That being said, if you would like to share my material with others, feel free to do so - with the proper credit.  After all, I wouldn’t be an online travel blogger if I didn’t want people to read my work and enjoy my photos.  In fact, now that I think about it, please go tell all of your friends and family members about me!

EMAIL SUBSCRIPTIONS – If you’d like to subscribe to my posts via email, you have to provide your email address.  Makes sense, right?  Please know, however, that I will never share your email address with anyone because I value my privacy as much as you value yours.  It is my understanding that the platform which enables you to receive new posts via email does not share your email addresses either.  If they did, I think they’d lose clients faster than Denny Hamlin makes it around the track.  But, alas, I cannot vouch for or change their company policies.

AFFILIATE PROGRAMS – Currently, my blog is not monetized – meaning I don’t make any money from commission programs, through referrals, by mentioning particular products or companies, etc.  I just break open my piggy bank whenever I feel an ice cream run coming on.  If I were to participate in any of type of program that could potentially generate income (or ice cream) for me, I promise I would tell you.  I won’t say, “Scout’s honor” because I was never a Scout, but I trust that you get my point.

YAY!  We’re finished with the Legal Gobbledygook!  Thank heaven that’s done – and thank YOU for slogging through it.  Now let’s get back to the good stuff!

  1. Hi, Mary,
Legal gobbledegook is just that...gobbledegook. Necessary, but a pain nonetheless. I've said before that there are too many lawyers in this world just waiting to pounce, but it is what it is. Now that you've got all the "i's" dotted treat yourself to an ice cream cone and continue to write. We love your stories. Joe
