I'll bet you're barely swiping a few pages on your e-reader before you're out like a light. Seriously, I can't figure out Camping World either. They could have the niche market of outfitting RVers nailed down but for their pricing and the ongoing bad press regarding poor customer service on the repair side of the business. Did I actually teach The Amazing Mike Mills a thing or two? Wow! That's impressive!MARYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06717399651012721086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556831972810821789.post-17680715902956082222020-08-29T18:41:54.735-04:002020-08-29T18:41:54.735-04:00How did I miss this post? Okay, I know, I know. Sometimes, these things can also make work easier. When there is no alternative but to fix something myself, I definitely will patronize them. (There's also the unwelcome possibility that I can find things there I didn't know I needed, thereby creating a cash flow in the wrong direction.)

Camping World is a bit strange to me. While it does have a plethora of overpriced RV supplies, its reputation for RV service has been in the tank for years. Marcus Lemonis must know about this, yet he hasn't demonstrated the ability to turn that around, as he seems to do for other's companies on his TV show, "The Profit."

Anyhoo, your research was impressive about the companies; I always like to learn things I didn't know, however small that list may be. I ...Look at that - yet another Tractor Supply fan! I do enjoy wandering the aisles while Alan's picking out parts or seed or whatever else he happens to need. They usually carry heavy log rocking chairs with a dark wood stain. I love the style, but we prefer a lighter wood. A couple of years ago, they had a warm "honey oak" sort of color that I fell for, and we ended up buying four of them. Haven't seen the lighter ones since, so I'm delighted that we grabbed them when we did - even though we had to travel to four separate TS locations to get all of them. As much as I complain about Camping World, it is convenient that there's one fairly close by. Like you, when we need something in a pinch, it's nice to know they're there. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Cheri - I hope you come back soon and often! This...I'm a first time commenter to your blog. This was a good post and my first ever reading your blog! My husband LOVES Tractor Supply. He could spend half a day in one - and if he goes by himself, he's welcome to do so. LOL! Honestly, I too have found some neat things while waiting on him. We do utilize Camping World if we need something right away and we are near one, but we often find prices lower in other venues. Since we've been full-timing, we use Escapees mail service where we have them destroy junk mail. I'm so glad we do not have to put up with all of that wasted paper on a regular basis. In CW's favor, we did renew our membership, as we regularly use their discount at a campground located near our adult children (as well as a few other places). Since it is good for 3 years, it does save us more than the membership. I believe each has a steady supply of regular customers, but neither would appeal to the general public. Alan and Ryan often stop at Tractor Supply for parts for their utility trailers, and the store carries Carhartt t-shirts - a favorite of Ryan's. It reminds me of a small town general store with a little bit of everything. They even have Mallo Cups - one of cousin Bob's childhood favorites.MARYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06717399651012721086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556831972810821789.post-73001319593861130682020-08-10T06:44:00.944-04:002020-08-10T06:44:00.944-04:00very interesting comparison. would you believe I ...very interesting comparison. would you believe I have not been in Tractor Supply yet! It's nice to meet you! Please forgive the delay in responding - we were without power and cell service for a while. Tractor Supply is the only place I can find a particular type of leather work glove in a size that actually fits me, and I'm very appreciative of that. I was spoiled when Ryan worked there; he would sometimes text me when he picked up a new shipment of babies, or if they were close to being sold out and I hadn't made it in "to visit" yet. I was appreciative of that, too!MARYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06717399651012721086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556831972810821789.post-18666091023477956782020-08-08T20:41:51.006-04:002020-08-08T20:41:51.006-04:00First time commenter. Someone in the company's hierarchy must have been convinced the the outrageous expense for postage was more than offset by the business the promotional literature brought in. You know - the boys and their toys. I've never floated the idea of bringing any babies home - much more fun to watch for a while, then walk away from the responsibility. If I had to guess, though, I'd say that Alan's response would be the same as Tom's - and I'll bet that doesn't surprise you a bit!MARYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06717399651012721086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556831972810821789.post-8019669999347743652020-08-08T11:35:27.629-04:002020-08-08T11:35:27.629-04:00Your post reminded me of the deluge of Good Sam st...Your post reminded me of the deluge of Good Sam stuff that flooded our mailbox when were active RVers, There were welcome discounts at camping sites and one of their insurance policies that included towing an RV was a nice safety net (that I never had to use). But, it took at least three years for Good Sam to accept that we no longer camped and had no interest in their products and offers. I wound up stocking up on some great quality dog food, treats, and even new toys. I too love the baby ducks and chicks, and want to bring some home..(Tom said NO) Keep me out of there if they ever have baby goats though! I wonder how the propane compares to HD or Lowes? I might be not-so-pleasantly surprised! But, until there is one a bit closer, they will have to be our go-to. Meanwhile, thank you for the info - I LOVE their Mission and Value statement...sounds like an awesome place to work! Joanyzzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07318659345218628695noreply@blogger.com
